ABOUT THE EVENT
RACE TO BEAT POTS
Super T joined the POTS community on June 4th at the Race to Beat POTS (postural orthostatic syndrome, a disorder of the autonomic nervous system and form of dysautonomia). This event raised funds for Dysautonomia International’s POTS research, education, and awareness programs. Super T sponsored and tabled at the event, spreading awareness for Mast Cell Disease, with brochures and merchandise.
Participants ran, walked or rolled a 5k or 1 mile loop during the in-person race while others came out to show their support for the POTS community or participated virtually from home. Throughout the event, there were family-friendly activities, games, and entertainment.
Raising Awareness and Funding
Over 300 in-person participants, 245 virtual racers and 279 donors have generously contributed to and supported this event. The goal of the event was to raise awareness and raise as much funding as possible for Dysautonomia International’s mission to support research, clinician education, and patient empowerment.
Awards Ceremony
Prizes were awarded to teams and individuals after the race including a category for participants who could “Make Noise for Turquoise” with the best Dysautonomia Awareness outfit.
Super T’s Mast Cell Foundation’s mission is to help provide resources and financial support to individuals seeking a diagnosis and treatment for an under-diagnosed and incurable disorder known as mast cell disease.
